Pauline Judkins Grissom, 89, of Fort Smith, passed from this life on February 18, 2021 in Fort Smith. She was born April 6, 1931 in Van Alstyne, Texas to James Leslie and Minnie Mae (Meadows) Judkins.
Pauline married Leonard Carroll Grissom on December 10, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Pauline enjoyed traveling and going to bluegrass festivals with her husband after he retired from Halliburton. Writing stories of her growing up years in Texas during the Depression and also writing poems was a favorite pastime as well as studying her Bible. Her family was very important to her and she relished time spent with them whether it was playing dominoes or card games, just visiting, or gathering around the table for a meal.
Pauline is survived by two daughters, Paula Grissom Ristow (Ed) of Fort Smith and Vonetta Neu (Paul) of Roland, Oklahoma, two granddaughters, Apryl McDaniel (Troy) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Christie Greene (Ryan) of Fort Smith and a great-grandson, Tanner McDaniel of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Joe Judkins, Ewell Judkins, Euna Faye Grissom, Esta Lee Martin and Eldena Burnett.
Viewing will be held at Edwards Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00pm Thursday, February 25, 2021. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00am Monday, March 1, 2021 with the funeral following the visitation at 11:00am, all at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas. Burial will be at Van Alstyne City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
