MRS. IDA MAE GASKILL
LAID TO REST THURSDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae Gaskill were held at the First Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ray Flaherty, assisted by Rev. J. O. Duckworth. Her nephews served as pallbearers. Interment was in the City Cemetery. Flesher Funeral Home directed.
Mrs. Gaskill had been in ill health for several years. She passed away Tuesday morning at 3:30 at the Sheppard Field Air Force Hospital in Wichita Falls. She was the widow of the last Thomas E. Gaskill and had resided in Van Alstyne many years. She was born in Texas on Oct. 16, 1894, the daughter of the late John L. and Louella Fuse Hill. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was the loving mother of a large family, gentle and kind to all who knew her.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Verna Mae Carney of Van Alstyne, Mrs. Jean Jones of Irving, Mrs. Loy Burgess of Dallas, Mrs. Loraine Sekula of Philadelphia and Mrs. Mary Lois Miller of McKinney; by six sons, Floyd Gaskill of Plano, Manuel Gaskill of McKinney, Ray Gaskill of Van Alstyne, Carl Gaskill of Fort Monroe, VA., W. L. Gaskill of Perrin Field, and Thomas E. Gaskill of Charleston, South Carolina; by three sisters, Mrs. Essie E. Holder of Van Alstyne, Mrs. Jennie McMenamy of Bochita, Okla., and Mrs. Renda Ruddle of Houston; and by 25 grandchildren.
