Tioga Rites Conducted for Victim of Accident
Tioga, Texas - Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Tioga First Methodist Church for Johnny Ross Van Zandt, 16 year old Tioga youth, who was fatally injured Monday when he fell from a moving truck east of Tioga on F.M. Highway 120. Burial was in the Tioga Cemetery.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Van Zant of Tioga, the youth was a sophomore student at Tioga High School. He was working as a cotton picker until the reopening of school. 
Justice of the Peace S.R. Stiles returned an inquest verdict of accidental death resulting from head injuries.
The youth is survied by his parents; three brothers, J.P. Van Zandt, with the United States Army in Germany, and James Van Zandt and Jerry Van Zandt of Tioga, and five sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Biggers of Whitesboro, Mrs. Gus Foster of Prosper, Miss Mary Van Zandt of Dallas, and Miss Jewell B. Van Zandt and Miss Janis Van Zandt both of Tioga.
