Fred was one of 15 children born in Tioga, Texas to Edward Willis and Mary Elizabeth Rogers Reynolds. They lived on a 200 acre farm four miles east of Tioga that was a gift from the Rogers Family.
In 1902 the family left Tioga in a covered wagon, two horse tack and a single buggy to live on a five-and-a half section ranch near Canyon, Texas.
They left Canyon in 1913 to farm near Henrietta, Texas. Edward and Bob took the farm machinery and household goods to Henrietta by train. Mary along with the other children, Cora, Zora, Cecil, Ed, Joe and Fred made the two week trip in a covered wagon, open wagon and buggy with about 30 mules. Fred, 11 years old at the time, rode his half Shetland pony all the way. Fred and Ed slept in the open wagon and recalled awakening with snow all over them.
The Reynolds family returned to Tioga in 1927. Fred worked as a cowboy for Charles Goodnight; he also lived in Chicago where he worked as an auto mechinac and then later returned to Tioga and settled on part of the Rogers homestead about a mile east of Tioga.
He was a mechinical instructer for the government, teaching mechanics to the G.I.'s after World War ll. He was also a farmer and rancher. He served over 20 years on the Tioga School Board.
Brothers and sisters were: Ben Osa, Cora Alice, John Willis, Carl Herbert, Clarence Bert, Cecil Clyde, Clem Franklin, Clanton Abbott, Robert Lee, Edward Walter, Orby Vinson, Zora Jane and Joseph Rufus.
Fred had one daughter from his first marriage - Lora Agnes (Susie) Reynolds. Fred and wife Ruby Gill Reynolds raised four children on their farm east of Tioga - Freda Lee (Baker), Edward Franklin, Benny Charles and Julia Ann (Smith).


TIOGA, Texas — Ruby Lee Reynolds, 97, of Tioga died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Pilot Point, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Tioga, with Rev. Luther Slay and Rev. Roger Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery, under the direction of Huff/Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point.
Survivors include sons, Edward and Benny Reynolds; daughters, Freda Baker and Judy Smith, all of Tioga; stepdaughter, Susie White of Seattle; sisters, Viola Betts of Canyon, Marie Browning of Wichita Falls, Bernice Schleiper of Midway, Ala.; and brother Doyle Gill of Carrollton, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home.
