Star-Telegram March 2, 2011 Ira Arthur Knight, 88, of Fort Worth passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in Bonham at a veterans' home. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Tioga Cemetery in Tioga, Aurther Green officiating. Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Huff/Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to American Hospice, 194 Industrial Blvd., Suite 104, McKinney, Texas 75069. He was born March 2, 1922, in Dorchester to Andrew Jackson and Laura Dickey Knight. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was retired from Bell Helicopter. He married Carrie D. Ward on Sept. 27, 1941. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie D. Knight; and his sons, Ira Knight Jr., Freddie Knight and Roger "Butch" Knight. Survivors: Daughters, Beverly Robertson of Fort Worth and Theresa Massey of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
