James Henry (Jimmy) Kays, age 66, devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away on September 5, 2009 in Azle, Texas. 
Jimmy was born February 4th, 1943 in Tioga, TX to Willard and Erna Kays. Jimmy was raised in Tioga, TX and graduated from Tioga High School in 1961. Jimmy spent many years playing the drums in a Honky Tonk band with his brother Fred, and several local boys that he went to school with. He began working for Bell Helicopter Textron in 1964 and retired in 2003 after 39 years. While at Bell, Jimmy met his true soul mate and best friend Debbra. Jimmy and Debbra married in January of 1995. Jimmy has a passion for thoroughbred horses and racing. In 1990 he began another career as a thoroughbred race horse trainer. He raced his and his client's horses all over Texas and Oklahoma. Through many triumphs and devastating tragedies, he always kept focus of his goals and tirelessly gave 110% effort day in and day out. 
Jimmy's parents and little brother Glen Dee (Burr) Kays preceded him in death along with his cherished racehorse Willie Enuff.
Survivors are his beloved wife and best friend Debbra Kays; daughter Ginger Davis and husband Scott of Azle, TX; stepsons Dylan Lawton and wife Jacinda of Fort Worth, TX and Cole Lawton and wife Sarah of Hurst, TX.; granddaughter Nicki Davis; grandson Lucas Lawton; mother-in-law Dorothy Key of Southlake; Brother Fred Kays and wife Joyce of Woodbine, TX.; sister-in-law Belinda Kays of Collinsville; brother-in-law Don Brandon of North Richland Hills; sister-in-law Cathy Brandon of Haslett, TX; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members with a host of friends and his little companion Moxie. 

Visitation will be Tuesday September 8, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Service will be Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with burial to follow at Tioga Cemetery.
