DAVID ALBERT BLOUNT

David was born on 23 April 1934 in Leonard, Texas to Howard and Caddie Blount. He died on 18 August 2010 in Sherman, Texas.
On 28 January 1954 he married Miss Evelyn Opel Hash.
David enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin in Arkansas, going fishing, and supporting the Sherman Bearcats on Friday nights. His family and friends will miss his infectious laugh.
He was an active member of
St. Mary's Catholic Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was in the U.S. Army in his youth and retired from Texas Utilities Electric, where he worked as a dispatcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Cassie Blount; sister, Betty Hubbert, and a brother, Robert Blount.

David is survived by his wife Evelyn Opel Blount of Sherman; daughter, Sharon Eilrich and husband Brad of Paris, TX.; son, Larry Blount and wife Julie of Denison, TX.; daughter, Cindy Lancaster and husband Jerry of Sulphur Springs, TX.; sister, Kathryn McClain of Jefferson, TX.; brother; James Blount and wife Dodie of Denison, TX.; sister; Janet Bledsoe and husband Bob of Georgetown, TX.; grandchildren, Kelli Souther and husband Benny, Kyle Roberts and wife Deanna, Jenny Coley and husband Jason, David Wayne Blount, Monica Lancaster, Cole Lancaster, Amy Blount, Brooke Lancaster, Cody Eilrich, Bailey Eilrich; great grandchildren, Morgan Fulce, Dylan Williamson, Kinley Lewis, Hadley Souther, Emery Coley, Paige Jackson, Katelyn Coley; sister in-law, Frances Bivins and husband Gary; special friends Nick and Opal Nichols, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at
Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, Sherman. Rev. Jeremy Myers of St. Mary's and Rev. Susai Avula, St. James Catholic Church, Sulphur Springs, Texas, officiated.
Grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Waldo Funeral Home.
