Sherman- A memorial funeral mass for Donald George Sikora will be held at 10:00 AM Monday July 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Antonio Aureus of the church will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mr. Sikora passed away Thursday July 15 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ at the age of 75.
Don was born August 27, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Rose (Beck) Sikora. Following six years of service in the US Air Force, Don married Mary “Fran” Juskelis on June 25, 1960 in Baltimore. Mr. Sikora taught two years in the Anderson School of Business at the University of New Mexico after retirement from the US Department of Health and Human Services specifically the Health Care Finance Administration for Medicare Part B. He retired from civil service after 28 years. Mr. Sikora was a member of the VFW, AARP, and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Don Sikora is survived by his wife of 50 years, Fran of Sherman; one daughter, Donna Marie Sikora Snyder and her husband Michael T. Snyder of Apalachian, New York; three grandsons, Quinn, Jackson, and Evan Snyder; one brother, John Sikora and wife Tana of Barrington, Illinois. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Rev. Joseph Sikora, SJ.
The family would like to thank the staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ, Texoma Healthcare Center, Sherman Fire and EMS Department, Dr. Rue and Dr. Isaac.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Mary's Catholic School at 713 S. Travis, Sherman, Texas 75090.
