The following is paraphrased from the obituary that was published on the Sherman Democrat newspaper, Sherman, Texas, on 7 June 1998, Page A-12, and family input.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, New Jersey – Gordon was born in Lincoln, Illinois and passed away at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Gordon married Miss Dee McGraw. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison College, Trenton, New Jersey with a B.A. in Economics. He was the founding president of the Thomas A Edison College Alumni Association.
Mr. Beaver was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown, New Jersey, and a member of Hightstown Council 6284 of the Knights of Columbus.
He also served on the East Windsor Council from 1970 to 1973 and was a former member of the East Windsor Municipal Utility Authority. Mr. Beaver was a member of the East Windsor Republic Club and the East Windsor Republican Committeeman to the Mercer County, New Jersey.
Mr. Beaver retired in 1998 as a financial specialist from the Department of Environmental Protection, State of New Jersey, with 20 years of service.
Gordon was survived by his wife Dee McGraw Beaver of the home; two sons, James M. Beaver of Clover, South Carolina and Samuel G. Beaver of Hamilton Township, New Jersey; four daughters, Vanessa B. Beaver of North Brunswick, Virginia G. Bordelon of Grapevine, Texas, Valery A. Beaver of Lindsay, Texas, and Cassandra D. Andrus of McKinney, Texas; one brother, Julian N. Beaver of Santiago, Chile; one sister, Beth Biedenbarn of New Baden, Illinois; seven grandchildren; mother –in-law Mrs. Jack McGraw of Sherman.
Rosary was recited at Dannel Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeremy Myers, the pastor of St. Mary's as the celebrant.
