David Paul Adlof

Brigadier General (BG) Adlof was born in Sherman, Texas the son of Herman Hugo Adlof Jr. and Ruby Jackson Adlof.
He graduated from Sherman High School in 1956 and from the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in 1962.
David moved to Waxahachie, Texas in August 1962 and was a member of the Waxahachie Jaycees, past President of the Waxahachie Rotary Club and a member of the American Legion in Waxahachie. He owned and operated Medical Center Pharmacy in Waxahachie and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also past President of the Shamrock Pharmaceutical Association, the National Association of Retail Druggists and the A.Ph.A.
Adlof had been a member of the Texas National Guard and the Texas State Guard, where he served as Commander on the 19th Regiment in Dallas until January 13, 1966 when he was promoted to Brigadier General and assigned as one of the Deputy Commanders. In 1998 he retired from the Texas State Guard.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, had his private pilot license and he was a Knight of Malta.
Survivors include his loving companion, Bea Machovsky; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kayla and Nick Hester and Karen and Jack Hale; one son and daughter-in-law Brian and Lorie Adlof; and four beautiful grandchildren, Ethan and Amarie Hester and Miranda and Jack David Hale, all of Waxahachie.  He was also survived by one sister, Velma Adlof and one brother, Bobby Charles Adlof.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Randall Wrey Adlof who died in 1965; a brother, James H Adlof; and a sister, Margaret Adlof Buchanan.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Michael Guadagnoli officiating. Interment followed at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sherman, where he lays to rest next to his son Randal.


Randall Wrey Adlof

Randal was born in Waxahachie, Texas the son of David & Marilyn (Schmidt) Adlof.
He died as a result of being critically injured when struck by a car, while the family were in Sherman visiting his grandparents.
He was survived by his parents of Waxahachie; a sister, Karen Leigh Adlof; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Adlof of Sherman and Mr. and Mrs Gus Schmidt of Austin, Texas; great-grandparents Mrs Hugo Adlof of Sherman, Mrs Fred Rust of Austin and Mrs. F.W. Schipmidt of Round Rock, Texas.
Mass of the Angels for the youth was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with pastor Reverend John Duesman, officiating.
Burial under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home, was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
