The Herald Democrat

August 19, 2017

James Michael Wright was born November 13, 1951 in Durant, Oklahoma, son of Gertie Marie and James Paul Wright; he was known as "Jim" to those who knew and loved him.  Jim grew up in Irving, Texas, was an alumni of McArthur High School, and a Corporal in the U.S. Army where he served honorably in Vietnam from 1970-1971. A man of many talents, Jim was a master woodcrafter and often designed and built unique, elaborate toys for his grandchildren. Taking after his father, Jima also had a vast knowledge of mechanics and could work on anytying with a motor or moving parts.  In more recent years, Jim enjoyed attending gun shows and building and collecting firearms. Jim's true love, however, was spending time on his Harley Davidson and it was rare to see him dressed in anything but his "Harley" attire.
Jim will be affectionately remembered by his friends and co-workers, and will be forever held close in the hearts of his surviving family: older sister, Paula Deason; daughter, Jennifer Torres; sons, Clay and Russell Wright; and grandchildren, Jordan Kile, Andrew Wright, Colby Wright and Payton Wright.
Jim passed away August 15, 2017, and his ashes were lovingly laid to rest Saturday, August 19, 2017 in a private family ceremony beside his parents at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.
