The Whitewright Sun Friday, February 20, 1914 pg. 6 DEATH NEAR PILOT GROVE Mrs. M.E. Simpson, residing two miles south of Pilot Grove, died last Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Mrs. Simpson was a native of Denton county; she was forty years of age and was the mother of ten children, nine of whom and the father survive her. The burial was at Smith grave yard Monday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by a minister from Van Alstyne. The Whitewright undertaker who was called to prepare the body for burial and who was present at the interment stated that an unusually large crowd of neighbors and friends were assembled at the cemetery to pay suitable tribute.
