Martha Simon Baxter

John G. Gnase was a buyer & seller of land in and around Grayson County, as well as a builder.  Marie Gnase Simon's brother, John G. Gnase, acquired 160 acres.  He gave this land to his sister, Marie, who got the patent from the government.

Fritz Simon gave his store to his daughter, Martha, which she and her husband operated; he gave his farm to his son, Fred, and Mary's three sons.  The Baxter home was located at the corner of Knight Rd. and Theresa Lane.

Mary, daughter of Fritz & Marie Simon, had three sons : Laurence, Thomas & Frantz.  The boys, their aunt Martha Simon Baxter, and uncle, Fred Simon sold the 160 acre farm to Henry Grady Dorris for $2,400.00 in 1946; but the sale was finalized in 1947.  Grady Dorris and his wife, Nellie Alice Pool, had rented this farm from 1933 until its sale in 1946 for $100 per year.
