Elizabeth & John Deckard


John Deckard and his second wife, Elizabeth, had at least nine children, Perry was the youngest.

John and Elizabeth Deckard are buried in Bethlehem Cemetery (aka Sadler/Roberts Cemetery) with no dates (Elizabeth died 9/6/1889 & John was born June 11 1838, died 10/06/1900 and was married 4 times).  Given Census records he was born about 1837 Kentucky with parents from Virginia; Elizabeth was born about 1844 Virginia with parents from Virginia.
Six of their children were born in Texas, if Census was correct.

John's third marriage lasted only from February 1890 to July 31, 1890, when John C. Deckard was granted a divorce.

John C. & Elizabeth had a son, John T. born about 1868. John T Deckard's first wife, Bulah Younger, whom he married 17 December 1889, died July 1898 is buried in the Bethelem Cemetery. John T Deckard died from burns on February 20, 1900 and was buried February 21, 1900 in Sadler Cemetery. Another son, Gettie B. Deckard, is buried in Oak Wood Cemetery at Whitesboro, along with his wife, Myrtle Forte, whom he married in November 1897 and their son, Lee, is buried at Oakwood Cemetery also.

John Deckard's 4th wife was Mary M. Stephens; they wed September 20 1891. She is buried in the Worden Cemetery.
