Sherman - Robert Reynolds was born June 5, 1923 in Ravenna, Texas to Runa and Julia Ann Beene Reynolds and passed from this life on Thursday, December 3, 2015 in Sherman at the age or 92.
Robert grew up in Fannin and Grayson counties where he attended schools at an early age.  In 1943 he was drafted into the United States Army and fought in the China Burma India Theater (CBI) during World War II.  Robert married the love of his life, Rilla Frances Dicken, on February 20, 1943 in Ambrose, Texas.  After his honorable discharge, Robert worked for Quaker Oats in Sherman for 10 years and then at Grayson Mill Works for 5 years.  He later became employed with Texoma Auger which became Reed Drill, working as a mechanic for the last 28 years until his retirement.  Robert loved fishing, playing 42 and Canasta, and looking for old coins and relics with his metal detector.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister and two brothers.
He is survivied by his loving wife of 72 years; sons, Doyle Robert Reynolds and wife, Kay, of Van Alstyne, Texas; and David Wayne Reynolds and wife, Janet, of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Sheila Debbert and husband, Dennis, of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Gregory Reynolds, Brad Reynolds, Wayne Reynolds, Vance Reynolds, Lee Pagano and Robert Charles Debbert; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Reynolds and wife, Dorothy, of Bells, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Graveside services were held Monday, December 7 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells with Bill Mayes officiating.
Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
