Bells, Grayson Co, Texas — Our Dad, Jewel Kenneth Parker, passed away 17 Jan 2007 after a short illness. The celebration of his life was held Saturday, 20 Jan 2007 at 10 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Pink Hills Community near Bells, Texas.

His pallbearers were Bob Carter, Jerry Jernigan, Ron Mailes, Lonnie Carter, Dan Ferguson, Lance Carter, Bill Pyles and John Wayne Ramsey. Honorary pallbearer was Amos Jernigan. Nephews Dr. Steve Washburn and Rev. Phil Washburn and grandson Rev. Kevin Parker officiated.
We chose Dad's pallbearers to represent the diverse aspects of his life. Bob, Lonnie, Dan and Lance from Mother's family; Bill, Jerry and Amos from his own family; John from his lodge; and Ron from his traveling family. He loved all these men because they are standing in for a lot of people who blessed his life.
He was born February 20, 1918 in Dripping Springs, east of Denison, Texas, to Nathaniel Benjamin and Naomi Frances Parker.
He married our mother, Earline Washburn, daughter of Lonnie Washburn and Veta Hogan Washburn on January 7, 1943. She preceded him in death January 2004.
He is also preceded by his parents; brothers, Ernest Parker and Claude Parker; and sisters, Goldie McGill, Dora Ballard, Carrie Pyles and Amber Jernigan.
