Bells - Services for Emmitt Glendon Moore of Richardson, 72-year-old retired mail carrier, were held Thursday, April 18, 1996, in Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells. He died Tuesday, April 16, 1996, at Heritage Village Nursing Center.  Dr. Lowell Howard officiated with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born August 25, 1923, in Bells, Texas, the son of Cecil H. and Irene Lawrence Moore. He was a graduate of Savoy High School.
He married Ava Lee Wright on May 28, 1943. After her death, he married Louise Brown on August 29, 1975.
Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served on Omaha Beach, in the Battle of the Bluge and in the Invasion of Normandy, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Methodist and a member of the Richardson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8627.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Moore, of Richardson; daughters, Glenda Wright of Rowlett and Virginia Russell of Ladonia; brothers, J. C. Moore and Eddie Moore, both of Savoy, and Doug Moore of Sherman; stepson, Marvin Meek III of Jasper, Tennessee; stepdaughters, Mary Briden of Seattle, Washington; Patty Meek of Ozark, Alabama; and Barbara Apple of Las Vegas, Nevada; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren.
