Preston D. Lazenby, Sr., 70, retired farmer formerly of Bells, died at his home in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Monday night.  The body was brought to Denison by Bratcher-Moore funeral directors and services were held at the Bells Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. W.O. Bucy officiating.  Burial was in Rosehill cemetery at Bells.
Mr. Lazenby was born in Adkins, Arkansas, April 5, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Lazenby.  He received his schooling in Bluffington, Arkansas and was married to Miss Rosie Moffett.  He was a member of the Methodist church and the Bells Masonic Lodge.
Survivors are three sons, P.D. Lazenby, Jr., Walter Lazenby, and O'Brien Lazenby of Carlsbad; four daughters, Mrs. Tom Moore, Bells highway; Mrs. B.F. Scaffer, Denison; Mrs. Barton Peters and Mrs. H.S. Cherry, Carlsbad; five brothers; three sisters; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
