Bratcher-Moore funeral directors were in charge of arrangements for the funeral in Savoy, Sunday for Emmett Lawrence, 76, retired farmer who died in a local hospital Wednesday, February 14, after a 2-year illness.  Rev. Baxter Bryant and Rev. Paul Kapp of Bells and Rev. Ronald Prince of Denison officiated and interment was in the Bells cemetery.
Mr. Lawrence was born in Oskaloosa, Kansas, May 4, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Lawrence.  He was married in Tom Bean, March 3, 1895 to Miss Lulu Williams.  He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include six sons, Floyd, Wade W., and J.T. Lawrence of Denison; Emmett T., Jr., and Glenn W. of El Paso, and Frank M. of Slaton; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Moore of Savoy and Mrs. Lillie Hoover of Littlefield; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
