BELLS - Jackie Lankford, 75, of Bells passed away Friday, June 3, 2005 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Services were held Monday, June 6th at Mullican Little Funeral Home. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Jackie was born March 28, 1930 in Lewisville, Texas to Hershel and Florence Lankford. He married Geraldine Rice on October 10, 1952 in Bells, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 9, 1998.
He served in the US Navy in active combat during the Korean War. He retired from Grumann Olson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bells and the Masonic Lodge of Bells.
Surviving are his sons, Ricky Lankford, and wife, Phyllis of Bells; Michael Lankford and wife, Janiece of Whitewright, one daughter, Teresa Stephens of Gordonville; grandchildren, Mandy Hitsman and husband, Joe Allen, Heather Kimberly and husband, Cole, Cody Lankford and Josh Bilyeu, all of Bells, Brandon Cutts and wife, Rachel of Denison, Jessica Stephens of Gordonville, Jennifer Sinor and husband, John of Whitewright, Jason Lankford and wife, Priscilla of Howe, Michelle Glover and husband Marcus of Honey Grove; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Ethan Cutts, Morgan Sinor, Gracie Lankford and Nicolas Glover; sister, Sue Lloyd of Bonham and brother, M.J.Lankford and wife, Winnie of Crockett.
Pallbearers were Cody Lankford, brandon Cutts, Josh Bilyeu, Jason Lankford, Eugene Sanford and E.T.Pettit. Honorary pallbearers were Jay Travis and Harrison French.
He loved spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loving heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
