Loretta "Babe" Juanita Smith, born August 27, 1927 in Somerville, Texas to Jess and Maude Shelburne, completed her earthly travels April 30, 2013 in Savoy, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Paul Smith, Sr. January 3, 1947 and was married 57 years before his passing. She never met a stranger and while traveling the world as a military wife, homemaker and devoted Bob Wills fan, built many life-long friendships. She loved the American flag, was extremely proud of her patriotic family and her 50 year association with the Gate City Eastern Star, Chapter 77 in Denison, Texas. Her greatest joy in most recent years was spending time at the Denison SNAP with her many friends, dancing and enjoying the sounds of Texas Swing music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; brothers Sam, Otis and Louis and sister Lucille. She is survived by one brother J.L. Shelburne and wife Doris of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son, Paul Smith, Jr. and wife Jeannean of Bells; daughter, Janice Smith of Bells; son, James and wife Deb of St. Croix, VI; five grandchildren, Tina Jeffrey and husband Dub, Rodney Campbell and wife Tara, Paul Smith, III and wife Laura and Amanda Smith all of Bells and Deaira Smith of Crestview, FL; eight great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Juanita were held 10 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells/Savoy with Rev. Houston Garner officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells. Those serving as pallbearers were Tina "Tinalove"Jeffrey, Dub "Dubby" Jeffrey, Rodney "RPede" Campbell, Deaira "Scoot" Smith, Paul "Chip" Smith (Honorary), Amanda "Renea" Smith and Dakota "DJ" Berthiaume.
