Rejana "Johnnie" Christine Cherry, 93, of Bells, Texas, joined the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ on December 20, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Johnnie was born in Ector, Texas on September 24, 1924, daughter of Claude and Willie Shaw.  She married Francis "Toots" Cherry in 1946.  Together they raised 3 children.  Johnnie had a passion for playing the piano and loved being a disciple of God.  Johnnie was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend.
Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Claudine; husband; and son, Vaughn.
She is survived by a brother, James and wife, Willie Mae; son, John; daughter, Linda and husband, Gary Don; grandchildren, Shawn Cherry, Nathan Leonard, Troy Leonard, Lacy Hill and husband Shane, Marlee Sexton and husband, Trey, and Trina Leonard; 5 great-grandchildren, Bonnie Leonard, Tristan Hill, Elyssa Hill, Tarcy Sexton, and Keagan Hill.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, December 26, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Paul Cherry officiating.  Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, Texas.   Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas. - - - Fisher Funeral Home



Vaughn Cherry
1962 -2013


Vaughn Cherry, 50 year old Bells resident passed, away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Services wereset for 2 P.M., Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Mullican-Little Chapel in Bells/Savoy, with Dr. Bill Neal officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells. Those serving as pallbearers for Mr. Cherry were Nathan Leonard, Cecil Scott, Mark Skinner, Chad Filveck, and Bruce Neal.
Vaughn was born November 13, 1962 in Denison to parents, Francis "Toots" Cherry and Rejana (Shaw) Cherry. He graduated from Bells High School with the class of 1981 and married Leslie Ballard July 27, 1996 in Luella. He was a member of the College Boulevard Missionary Baptist Church in Denison.
Vaughn was preceded in death by his father, Toots.
He is survived by his mother, Rejana Cherry of Bells; wife, Leslie; daughter, Kenna Cole of Bells; brother, John Cherry of Bells and sister, Linda Leonard of Cherry Mound.
Vaughn enjoyed life, loved old cars and trading them. He had many friends whom he shared a lot of good times. He has left many cherished memories for his family and friends and while his passing was sudden, the family is confident that their faith will get them through this very difficult time.
