Friday, December 9, 1949 pg.5 John Bishop, 76, former postmaster at Bells, Texas, was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, on November 30. He died at his home, 119 W. Prospect, and funeral services were conducted at the Bells Baptist Church with Bratcher-Moore in charge of arrangements. He was born in Kentucky in 1873, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Bishop. Suvivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary [sic] Bell Bishop; 2 sons, Lonnie Bishop of Wichita Falls and Jesse Lee Bishop of Celeste; one brother and 2 sisters.
