Funeral services for William T. Kirby, 80, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church at Bells, conducted by Rev. J.A. Henderson of Pink Hill and Rev. G.W. Greenwalt, pastor of the Bells church.  Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Bells.  Pallbearers were grandsons, Leon, Arvie and Willie Files; Olan and Howard Hott and J.D. Jones.
Mr. Kirby, a retired farmer, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday at his home in Bells.
Born November 8, 1867 at Oxford, Mississippi, Mr. Kirby was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Monroe Kirby.  He was married in 1891 to Miss Charity C. Gladden of Bonham, who survives.  The Kirbys moved to a farm west of Whitewright in 1917 and lived in this community before moving to Bells 8 years ago.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Doyle W. Kirby of Chandler, Arizona; 7 daughters, Mrs. Florence Vincent and Mrs. Gladys Anderson, both of Bells; Mrs. Juanita Wiist of Savoy; Mrs. Pearl Files of Henryetta, Oklahoma; Mrs. Edna Richert of Wichita Falls; Mrs. Jewel Holland of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Jim Ann Baugher of Whitewright; a brother, Arthur Kirby of San Francisco; 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

DEATHS
Mrs. W.T. Kirby, 79, of Bells, died Friday at 9 p.m. in a Sherman hospital after an illness of 8 hours.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church in Bells; Rev. Clayton Hicks, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. Allen Owens, pastor of Dodd City Baptist Church.  Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Earnheart Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were Grady Glass, B.D. McBroom, Roy Duncan, Fred Shearer, Burr Ledbetter, and Ray Rice.
Mrs. Kirby was born September 16, 1876 [sic] in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Gladden.  She was married in 1891 to W.T. Kirby in Bonham.  She was a member of Bells Baptist Church and had lived in Grayson County since she was one year old.
She is survived by a son, S/Sgt. Doyle W. Kirby, U.S. Air Force, Germany; 7 daughters, Mrs. Bill Vincent and Mrs. Otis Anderson of Bells; Mrs. Pearl Files and Mrs. W.S. Holland, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Edna Richert, Wichita Falls; Mrs. Jim Ann Baugher, Sherman; Mrs. Juanita Wiist, Keene; 34 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Susie Edmondson, Westminster.
