SAVOY - Dalton Barron, 79, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Beacon Hill in Denison.
Dalton was born on December 23, 1933 in Coleman, Oklahoma, the son of Emory Barron and Ethel Dilbeck Barron. He attended Savoy Schools. Dalton entered the U.S. Navy in 1956 and married Sharon Dallman on May 19, 1957 in El Cajon, California.
Dalton worked in San Diego, California, until retiring and moving to Savoy, Texas in 1978 with his family. He owned a service station in Savoy and then D & R Recycling in Sherman. He loved fishing, working, auto racing, and mostly spending time with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. His giving spirit will be missed by all.
He is survived by wife Sharon of the home; son, Rick Barron and wife, Deborah, of Whitesboro; daughter, Julie Compton and husband, Shon, of Cibolo; daughter, Jan Garza and husband, Joe, of Whitewright; son, Ronnie Barron and wife, Angela, of Gunter; son, Ryan Barron of Marysville, Washington; daughter, Joyce Beck and husband, Larry, of Denison; daughter, Jeri Kilcrease and husband, Danny, of Paris; son, John Barron and wife, Trina, of Sherman; 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ophelia Thomas of Durant, Oklahoma; Margaret Monroe of Mesquite; and Patsy Hutchins and husband, Ronnie, of Savoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Truman Barron and Winifred Barron.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy, Texas.  Rev. James Seigler and Rev. Bill Sessom officiated. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Rick Barron, Ronnie Barron, John Barron, Danny Kilcrease, Joe Garza, Shon Compton, David Wayne Price, and Daniel Barron.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dalton's name to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 177, Savoy, TX 75479
