David R. Price was born in Bells, Texas on November 23, 1924 and departed this life on July 19, 2007.  Funeral service was held Saturday, July 21, 2007 with burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Doc resided in Savoy, Texas and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savoy. He was an active church deacon for over 50 years during his life. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1956 with a degree in Agriculture Education. After  graduation he started his long career of teaching. He retired from Savoy High School in 1981 after 30 years of teaching, but remained active in the community and his church. In 1955 David and Betty moved to their farm that had been in the family for 150 years, just south of Savoy and spent 55 of their nearly 60 years together raising their children, cattle and crops on their beloved farm. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

Betty Lee Jones Price, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior, July 29, 2013.  Betty had a servant's heart.  She always shared her love of the Bible and God with all she met.  She influenced generations during her over 50 years as a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist, Savoy.  She was known as "Miss Betty" to her nursery babies and toddlers.  Later she worked the classes of young adults, older adults and the Golden Circle Ladies.  She was a long-time choir member and sang many solos for her church; she participated for years in Vacation Bible Schools, revivals, luncheons and all church events.  She was very active in her school and community.  She was a caretaker for many of her family members and anyone ill, or in need, in her town.

She was a loving mother and wife.  She cherished her farm, which had been in her family for over 150 years.  She was a city girl and accepted that she had to learn how to do things to contribute to the care of their land, whether it was plowing, hauling grain, bailing hay, penning cattle, or hoeing corn.  She did it all with a smile and a sense of pride in a job well done.
She was born April 11, 1929 in Whitewright to Oscar Lee "Pig" and Elizabeth Jones.  She graduated from Whitewright High School and married David R. "Doc" Price November 16, 1947.  They were married for almost 60 years before his death in 2007.
She is survived by her four children and spouses, Becky and Roy Lee Thomas of Savoy; Debbie and Charles Casada of Farmersville; Tony and Carolyn Price of Fairfield; Pam and Dan Fitzgerald of Whitewright; 10 grandchilren and spouses; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Thursday, August 1, at Mullican-Little Funeral Home, Bells.  Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Betty's grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Savoy, Texas.
