Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bells Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. He was a merchant, farmer and livestock man but retired from the general mercantile business in Bells in 1924, after 30 years, to devote his time to his farming interests with his son, Walter Ferguson.
Besides his son, Walter Ferguson, he is survived by a brother, W.P. Ferguson of Wichita Falls; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie McDowell of Santa Ana, California; and 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ferguson was born in Georgia April 2, 1856, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Ferguson, but his parents moved to Tennessee, where he was married to Mary Brown, a native of Tennessee, and they moved to Bells in 1888 with two sons.
