Earl J. Reynolds, 100, of Denison, passed away February 13, 2011. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy. Rev. Billy Wilder and Earl's son Jerry Reynolds officiated. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Earl was born in Winner, South Dakota, December 29, 1910, the son of John and Anna Ortman Reynolds. He was one of ten children and the last surviving member. He married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Evelyn Sherman on December 24, 1932 and they had 62 wonderful years until God called Evelyn home in 1993.
Earl and Evelyn had three children, Patricia Ann, Jerry Dean and Judy Kay. Their births were an addition to their already
full family. They raised Evelyn's orphaned brothers due to the death of her mother and three sisters, who died of ptomaine poisoning. Later in years, they also raised a special nephew for several years.

Earl was a special kind of guy who never met a stranger. His radiant smile and tender heart were always open to anyone in need. He was a giver to anyone he could help. He was an avid and enthusiastic fisherman and also loved to hunt. Most of his life he worked hard to support his family. He owned several businesses including E & E's place, a card parlor, a restaurant, a grocery store and a dairy farm in Wisconsin.
He served in World War II and was commander of the American Legion in Verdel, NE for several years. His last employment was with Reynolds Dry Wall Construction in Denison.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his loving wife; brothers, Fred, Robert, Jack and Lawrence Reynolds; sisters, Rosanna Braunsroth, Beatrice Bergman, Anne Miketso, Bernice Hagedorn and Helen Cole; and one grandson, Henry Earl Solano.
Surviving Earl are his loving children, Patricia Ann Bergtold and her companion J.L. McClure of Denison; Jerry Dean and wife, Mary, of Denison; and Judy Nichols and husband, Darrell, of Sherman; 8 grandchildren, Michael Solano and wife Joy; Anthony Solano; Jerry and Timothy Solano; Darlene Miller and husband, Farron; George Reynolds; Shannon Smith and wife, Geri; Christina Schupert and husband, Keith; 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; a host of nieces and nephews; and many who remained near and dear to his heart.
Pallbearers were Michael Solano, Anthony Solano, Jerry Solano, Timothy Solano, Shannon Smith, and Keith Schupert. Honorary pallbearers were George Reynolds, Farron Sherman, and Jim Whaley.
