BELLS - Graveside funeral services for Anna Lou Williams were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. James Heffington of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams, 90, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Texoma Healthcare.
Ann was born January 3, 1921 in Scipio, Oklahoma to the late Albert and Travis Burk (Elliott) Hale. She married Henry Williams on January 1, 1938 in De Queen, Arkansas. She and Henry were married more than 60 years when he passed away in August 1998. Mrs. Williams worked at Burlington Industries and Texas Instruments and had been a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church since 1945.
Affectionately known by her family as "Annie Lou", Mrs. Williams was the last surviving sibling of her family and is survived by her daughter, Melba Purcer of Bells; one son, Kenneth Williams of Bells; 9 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
