Bells, Texas - Forrest Edsel Pettit, 95, of Bells, Texas went home to our Heavenly Father 07/09/2016. He was born in Howe, Texas on November 7, 1920 to John Leslie Pettit and Jaunita Patton.

Forrest graduated from Howe High School. He married Tommy Jean Reed on January 21, 1955 in Durant, Oklahoma. Forrest served in the United States World War II Army as a 441st Army Engineer. Forrest was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Bells, Texas.
He was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. Forrest loved going to all the football and baseball/softball games in Bells
to support his grandchildren, gardening, and telling stories about the Army.

He leaves behind: Sister: Joy Nicholson of Amarillo, Texas; sons: E.T. Pettit and John Pettit of Bells, Texas; daughters-in-laws: Pam Pettit and Vicki Pettit of Bells, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Nate Pettit of Rowlett, Texas and Tori Pettit of Bells, Texas.
Forrest was preceded in death by his wife: Tommy Jean Pettit; parents: John Leslie Pettit and Juanita Patton-Pettit; brothers: Wilson Pettit, Temple Pettit, D.C. Pettit, and Thomas Pettit.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. David Draper officiated. 
Pallbearers were Len Cummins, Mark Cummins, Brian Cummins, Barney Gilliam, Jackie Cline, Mike Payne and Andy Hartline. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Pritchard, Wallace Chetham, Wayne Watson and Jerry Rolen
