Billy Lucas, 82 year old Bonham resident, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Billy was born April 12, 1932 in Leonard, Texas to Wesley and Allie Murray Lucas. He married Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Peters April 2, 1954 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Graveside services with military honors were at 10:00AM Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, Texas. Rev. Henry Shelton of Trinity Baptist Church in Bonham officiated.
Billy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and retired as a Manager of Brookshire Food Store in Bonham. After retirement he was a runner for NAPA and O'Reilley's Auto Parts. Billy was a graduate of Bells High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Billy is survived by his wife Betty of Bonham; sons, Jerry Matlock and his wife, Diana, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Gene Lucas and his wife, Martha, of Sulphur Springs; daughter Cheryl McIntire of Garland; grandchildren, Angela and James Watts; Rebecca Matlock; Aaron Sims; Ashley and Casey Denton; Michelle and Kevin Heagwood; Jeremy Lucas; Shannon Lucas; great-grandchildren Bianca and Katie Watts; Kamron, Kaelei and Kyrah Heagwood; Gavin and Piper Denton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Tom Lucas; and grandchild, Heath Lucas.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Fund or the donor's favorite charity in Billy's name.
