James Alfred "Andy" Anderson's story ended on January 17, but his legacy will endure. Andy was 74 when he lost his battle with lymphoma. "This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 The chapters of Andy's life were rich with love, friendship and service.

Andy was born in Bells, grew up in Grand Prairie and spent his retirement at home on "the farm" in Bells with his beloved wife of 52 years, Faye Nell. He could best be described as dedicated. Andy put his heart and soul into everything he did. After serving in the Army, Andy worked for LTV (later Vought Industries) for more than 30 years. He coached his daughters' softball teams, guided his son through Cub Scouts and bowled and played softball with the "Over-The-Hill Gang." Andy was never busier than he was after retirement. As a volunteer, he managed the Bells/Savoy Community Care Center food pantry and tended to the homestead acreage left in his care by his parents, Alfred Vinson and Florence Glass Anderson.  He worshiped and fellowshipped at First United Methodist Church in Bells.
In addition to his wife, Faye Nell, Andy is survived by three children and their spouses, Judy and Don McCallister, Terry and Paul Balson and Gary and Karin Anderson; 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Mason and Brandon McCallister; Ande, Abby and Joey Balson; and Sarah Anderson, Lindsey Juarez and Clayton Juarez and his wife Sarah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service were held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 21, at Mullican-Little Chapel. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Andy's name to the Memorial Fund at the First United Methodist Church in Bells.
