WHITEWRIGHT – James Ulissis Thompson passed from this life into his eternal home on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at his residence in Whitewright. James was born January 17, 1938 in Coolidge, Arizona, to parents, Carroll Thomas Thompson and Thelma Lillian (Dean) Thompson. He was a graduate of Geary High School in Geary, Oklahoma and married Beverly Jean Penrod April 7, 1962 in Gainesville, Texas. He was a retired U.S. Postal Employee, served his country in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bells, Texas.
Mr. Thompson is survived by is wife, Beverly Thompson of Whitewright; son, James Michael Thompson and wife, Sherri; daughters, Tisa Dian Thompson and Elisha Danee' (Thompson) Nabors and husband, Branden; brothers Carroll Forrest Thompson and Douglas Grant Thompson; and 3 grandchildren, Amy Lee Taylor, Anthony Gene Auldridge and Evie
Ray Nabors.
James was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Bari Gene Thompson and Richard Allen Thompson.

Funeral services for James were scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at The First Baptist Church of Bells with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery of Bells where the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard played Taps and folded and presented the American flag to the family. Those serving as pallbearers were Scot Bercutt, Tony Taylor, Anthony Auldridge, Dan Penrod, Joe Penrod and Robert Robinson.
