WHITEWRIGHT, TEXAS - Joshua Glen Holder, 17 year old Whitewright High School student, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Tom Bean, Texas as a result of an automobile accident.
Services were held 2:00pm Thursday, February 15 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Denison, Texas. Officiating was Rev. Charles Hahn, Rev. Greg Smith and Coach Rayce Guess. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, Texas.
Josh was born August 21, 1989 in Sherman, Texas, son of Jody Glen Holder and Ruth Reid. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Denison, Texas. He played football and baseball at Whitewright High School and also worked at the Whitewright Dairy Queen.
Josh is survived by his parents:
Mother: Ruth and stepfather, Jessie Brown of Bells;
Father: Jody Glen Holder of Whitewright;
Grandmother: Shirley McKinney of Southmayd; Great grandmother: Juanita Ruth Wall of Sadler;
Two Sisters: Amber and husband Jordan McKenzie of McKinney - Alicia Holder and Fiance, Trea Madole, of Bells; one step-brother: Jessie Brown Jr. of Sherman;
One step-sister: Jamie Brown of Durant, Oklahoma;
One great-aunt: Opal Grace of Southmayd;
Two aunts: Debbie Reid of Gainesville and Melinda Wilson of Southmayd (west of Sherman)
Four uncles: John Reid of Godley; Stephen Goldston of Dallas; Jay Holder of Denison; and Marty Holder of Southmayd community.
Cousins: Ronny Wilson, Rachael Frizzel, Tami Pierce, Cheri Mahurin, Andy Riddles, John Minshew, Stephen Goldston Jr.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: John Reid Jr. and J.B. Holder; and grandmother, LaWanda Sue Wall.
Pallbearers were Jordon McKenzie, Trea Madole, Brian Lilly, Cole Dotson, Ronny Wilson and James Auldridge.
Memorials may be made to the American Bank of Texas under Joshua Glen Holder's name.
