BELLS - Services for Mary Jane "Janie" Thomas, 77 of Bells, who died February 25, 2000 in Mullican Care Center, were held Feb. 27, 2000, in Mullican-Little Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Joan Humphries of First United Methodist Church in Bells officiated.  Family members served as pallbearers.  Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas was born November 9, 1922, in the Ethel community.  She was the daughter of David and Maudie Watts Walkup
and graduated from Collinsville Schools.  She married James T. Thomas on February 8, 1941, in Southmayd, Texas.

Janie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bells, a homemaker, partner, and friend.
Surviving are her husband, James T. Thomas of Bells; son and his wife, Roy Lee and Becky Thomas of Savoy; son and
his wife, Ralph and Betty Thomas of Pottsboro; sisters, Reba Goodman and Helen Neely, both of Collinsville; and 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
 
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1660 Duke Street, Alexandria, Va. 22314.



BELLS - Funeral services for J.T. Thomas, 84, of Bells were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2002 at the Mullican-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Thomas passed away Tuesday, December 24 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Mullican-Little Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

J.T. Thomas was born September 4, 1918 in Viars Chapel Community to James T. Thomas and Aletha Teel Thomas. He graduated from Van Alstyne High School and on February 8, 1941, Mr. Thomas married Mary Jane “Janie” Walkup in Southmayd, Texas.
Mr. Thomas was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bells, the Bells Masonic Lodge #798 and American Legion Post #563 in Bells. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and a retired homebuilder.
Rev. Joan Humphries of Bells First United Methodist Church officiated the service Friday and interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery where Masonic graveside services were held by the Bells Masonic Lodge. Masons served as pallbearers with Honorary Pallbearers being Jackie Lankford, Troyce Walt, W.C. Pointer, Don Dexhimer, A.L. Isom and Billy E. Dugan.
Mr. Thomas is survived by son, Roy Lee Thomas and his wife Becky of Savoy; son Ralph Thomas and his wife Betty of Pottsboro; sister, Hope Garland and her husband D.W. of Sherman; sister, Peggy Richardson and her husband Carl Lee
of Mission, Texas; brother, Andy Joe Thomas and his wife Neva of Denton; brother Chesley Thomas and his wife Joy of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
J.T. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Janie, on February 25, 2000.

in charge of arrangements.
