Bells, Texas -- Graveside services for James Douglas Lansford were held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Rev. Bill Neal, Jr. of First Baptist Church of Bells officiated.  Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
He passed away Tuesday, April 03, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian WNJ.

Doug was born January 17, 1921 near Ladonia, Texas the son of Robert Wesley and Annie Terry Lansford. He married Wanda Jean Short on September 26, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Doug retired as a gasoline transport driver for Chapman Inc. in 1979 after many years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bells.
Surviving Doug are his wife Jean of Bells; son Jeffrey Lansford of Van Alstyne; daughter Terrie Weaver and her husband, Daniel, of Callisburg; brother Vernon Lansford of Bells; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
His parents; son Jimmy Lansford; daughter Ann Pearl; granddaughter DeAnn Pearl; 3 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Doug's name to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 121 S. Pecan St., Bells, TX 75414




Jean passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 in Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her two children.
Jean was born July 17, 1933 in Blue Ridge, Texas to David James and Mable Francis (Clark) Short. She married James Douglas Lansford on September 26, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Jean was a retired Postmaster for Savoy, Texas and loved to needle work. Jean had a great compassion for her friends
and family and loved to take care of those in need. Jean loved her church family at the First Baptist Church in Bells where she was an active member. She served as a room mother for both Jeff and Terri for all their school years at Bells ISD.

Jean is survived by son, Jeffrey Lansford and his wife, Anita, of Bells; daughter, Terri Weaver and her husband, Daniel, of Callisburg; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Jean were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Dr. Bill Neal, Jr. officiated, whom Jean loved as her Pastor, and Rev. Phil Washburn assisted.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent in Jean's name to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, 307 S. Pecan St., Bells, TX 754l4
