Todd Anthony Byler, 54, of Pottsboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at TMC in Denison, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Todd was born on November 12, 1968 in Dallas, Texas and moved to Sherman, Texas with his family when he was a small child.  His family worshiped at West Sherman Baptist Church where he was baptized as a teenager.  His family moved to the Southmayd area where he attended Sadler &Southmayd (S&S) CISD and graduated with the class of 1987.  Todd attended Grayson County College and received a certificate in Auto Body Repair.  Todd married Edna Woosley in November 1990 in Grandfield, Oklahoma.
Todd began working for Jeff Hill, rebuilding engines.  His career changed to an electrician as he worked for both Jerry Paul Higgins and Brown & Root over 30 years.  He worked at Raytheon in McKinney, Texas and Texas Instruments in both Richardson and Sherman, Texas, where he was currently employed with Brown & Root.
For the past 28 years, Todd and his 2 brothers, Curtis and Jason, and several friends worked as teammates as Lone Star Towboats and throughout the year provided tow boat services  for the drag racing community, including international Hot Boats Association (IHBA), Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series, and Southern Drag Boat Association (SDBA).  He met numerous boat races and made lasting friendships that were as close as his own family that were very special to him.
Todd volunteered as a Scout leader with Pack #66 and Troop #55 of Pottsboro.  He was one of the driving forces which led both his sons to become Eagle Scouts.
Todd was passionate about his hobbies.  He loved working on small engines and buying and refurbishing older model Polaris jet skis; also he enjoyed woodworking, creating shadow boxes, kitchen cutting boards, and various wood gifts.
When Todd wasn't busy working, he loved watching movies over and over and could quote or compare any situation with a movie he had watched.  Todd loved decorating the home for the holidays, especially in his yard on Halloween and Christmas.
Todd enjoyed living and playing at the lake where he, his wife, and with the help of family members, built their home.  He loved his family fiercely and was so very proud of his sons.
Todd always had a detailed story to tell that sometimes lasted longer than you could imagine.  His friendly personality was to always help others. Todd knew people wherever he went.  If he met a stranger through conversation, they usually knew the same people and quickly became friends.
Todd is survived by his wife of the home that they shared with their sons, Bryce and Colton, of Pottsboro, Texas; parents, Tom Byler of Southmayd, Texas and Patricia Byler of Davidson, Oklahoma; brothers, Curtis of Tioga, Texas and Jason and wife, Kim, of Bells, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles Woosley and wife, Debbie, of Graham, Texas; uncle, James Allen and wife, Diane, of Eustis, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at West Sherman Baptist Church; graveside services followed at Preston Bend Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas.
