Michael Steven Leach, Sr, 69, passed from this life on September 13, 2021 with his family surrounding him. He was born August 15, 1952, son of Ralph Leach and Ada Minga Nelson.
Mike met Carla, the love of his life, when they were only 13 years old and later married on June 18, 1971, and together they were blessed with 2 sons and 1 daughter.
Mike proudly served our country in the United States Army.  In 1972 he was drafted by the Army and was stationed in Germany for 2 years.
He attended Grayson College and graduated from Southeastern with a Master's Degree in Education in 1979.
Mike started off student teaching at Terrell Elementary.  His first teaching and coaching job was with Hughes Juinior High (now B. McDaniel) and coached football at Denison High School.  His passion was to coach baseball.  Mike stepped out in faith and took a teaching and coaching baseball job at Harschi High School in Wichita Falls, 1982-1990.
Mike then made the move with his family to Littlerock, California where he took a teaching and coaching position for 2 years and then moved back to Wichita Falls and taught at McNeil Junior High.
In 1996 Mike moved his family to Burkburnett where he taught Economics and was head baseball coach, assistant football coach.  Mike became the all-time winningest coach in Burk base ball history.
Sadly in 2012 Michael was diagnosed with dementia which led to his retirement in 2013.  Mike and Carla celebrated their 50th anniversary this past June.
After retirement in 2013 Mike and Carla moved back to Denison, Texas, to be closer to family.  Carla cared for Mike all the way until his passing.
Mike was a man of integrity and honesty.  He loved the Lord, his wife, kids, grandkids, baseball, and his fellow coaches and players.
Mike is preceded in death by his father.
Mike is survived by his loving wife; mother of Tehachapi, California; sister, Janice Shrader of Tehachapi, California; children: son, Michael Steven Leach, Jr. and wife Kimberly, of Wichita Falls; son, Patrick Jo Leach and wife, Lindsay, of Dallas, Texas; and daughter, Carly Jo Guerrero and husband, Daniel, of Denison, Texas.
Also survived by 10 grandchildren: Stormy Leach; Michael Steven Leach, III; Elizabeth Arnold; Alena Guerrero; Eli Arnold; Angel McCorkle; Katie Beth Leach; Shelby Leach; Savannah Leach; and Yaya Licona.  Along with 3 great-grandchildren: Paisley Garrett; Aaliyah Robinson; and Latrell Robinson.
Funeral Service was held Saturday afternoon, October 2, 2021 at Trinity Light House, Denison, Texas with a graveside service following at Preston Bend Cemetery. - - -  Fisher Funeral Home
