Mrs. Sonja Bush, 70, passed away on August 17, 2012 in Sherman.
Mrs. Bush was born to Frank Marshall Hatchel and Bonnie Lee Shaw on February 27, 1942 in Maybank.  She was married to James Franklin Bush on June 25, 1960, who preceded her in death after 44 years of marriage.  She graduated from Kaufman High School.
She was a lifetime resident of this area and was the Executive Director of the McKinney Housing Authority.  She also worked for the Denison Peanut Factory.  She loved her family, collecting ginger jars and loved to cook.
Mrs. Bush was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Denison.
She is survived by three children, Christy Miller of Abilene, Wendy Bush of Sherman and James Bush and wife Lisa of Sherman.
She has four sisters, Barbara Guinn and Dwayne, Waco; Elizabeth Hall and Mike, Mesquite; Lola K. Hatchel and John, Plano; and Bonnie Tilson and Daryl, Kaufman; and one brother, Framk M. Hatchel Jr. and Sherilyn, Kaufman.
She has five grandchildren, Chrystal, Jason, Jessica, Sonja Jo and Brandi.  She also has 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Franklin Bush; two brothers, James L. Hatchel and Rick W. Hatchel.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the American Funeral Services Chapel, 4312 W. Crawford St., Denison with Bob Stevens and Malcolm Gage officiating.
Interment will follow at Preston Bend Cemetery, Pottsboro.
Family visitation will be held 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the American Funeral Services Chapel just prior to the funeral service.
American Funeral Services of Denison has charge of all arrangements.
