POTTSBORO - Funeral services for Robert Lee Stratton will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Georgetown Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Hancock officiating.  Burial with Masonic Rites will be by George R. Reeves AF & AM No. 396 in Preston Bend Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel from 3 -5 p.m. Sunday.

Robert passed away peacefully at his home in Pottsboro Friday, April 30, 2010, at the age of 67.  He was born Dec. 24, 1942, the son of Ray and Marguriete Terrell Stratton at Preston Peninsula.
He graduated from Denison High School in 1962. Robert married Shirley May Janway on March 10, 1965, in Denison, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 1992.   He married Alice Schirmer on Nov. 22, 1993, in Pottsboro.
Robert was self-employed as an equipment operator with Robert Stratton, Inc. He was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, past commander of VFW Post No. 7873, member of George R. Reeves Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 396 in Pottsboro, American Legion Post No. 231 and Elk's Lodge 238.   He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cassell, Al Tabor, Ray Smith, Jack Fox, Larry Wade and Steve Rosenbaum.   Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Friday, Mike Finke and Larry Finke.
The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Survivors are his wife, Alice Stratton of Pottsboro; son, Stephen Stratton of Pottsboro; daughters, Jennifer Fish and Shelley Stratton, both of Pottsboro; stepdaughter, Michelle Brewer of Denison; sisters, Jane Cayton and husband, Bun and Elizabeth Finke and her husband Ralph, all of Pottsboro; grandchildren, Shelby Stratton, Presley Malear, Garrett Stratton, Riley Fish, Kelsey Rosenbaum, Cody Hughes, Chase Hughes, J.T. Brewer and Nick Brewer.
He as preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ben Stratton.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all of those who helped with his care during his illness.
