Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Earnheart funeral chapel for James Edward Simpson, 62, of Pilot Grove, who died at 1:45 a.m., Saturday in his home following a heart attack.  Grady Langford of Van Alstyne conducted the services.  Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson was born October 9, 1903 at Pilot Grove, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley C. Simpson.  On June 27, 1923, he married Miss Pearl Auten at Desert.  He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, J.W. Simpson of Dallas; Pete Simpson of Westminster, and Gerald Simpson of McKinney; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Stevens of Kansas City, Missouri; three brothers, Ted Simpson of Dallas, Grady Simpson of Van Alstyne and Guy Simpson of Sherman; two sisters, Mrs. Rena McFerrin of McKinney and Mrs. J.D. Brown of Westminster; and eight grandchildren.
