Services were held Friday for Terrell L. Cowart, 82, at Earnheart Funeral chapel.  
He died Thursday morning in a local nursing home.  Before his retirement, Mr. Coward was a farmer and worked in the Sherman tax office.
Mr. Coward was born March 18, 1889 near Whitewright and lived in that area all his life.  He married Carrie Doggett November 28, 1916 in Tom Bean.  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Rev. Douglas Rymer, Whitewright Baptist, and Rev. Charles Pierce, Bethel Baptist, officiated with burial in Pilot Grove Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife; one brother, L.F. Cowart of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. R.D. Benson of Sherman; Mrs. A.W. Oliver of Denison; and Mrs. T.L. Salsman of Carrollton; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were W.M. Williams, James H. Gosnell, Weldon Bartley, Jack England, John Jarvis and Clifton Sanderson.
