Elder Berton A. Morris, 86, farmer and retired Primitive Baptist preacher and father of 13 children, died Sunday in a Whitewright nursing home.  Mr. Morris leaves 121 living descendants.  
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Earnheart Chapel with Elder Luther Webb and Rev. Douglas Rymer officiating.  Burial was in the Pilot Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Morris was born in Alabama, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Morris.  He married Miss Rebecca Irene Dixon in 1906 in Trenton.  He farmed in the Pilot Grove community and served as an elder-preacher for 77 years.
Survivors include seven sons, Weldon Morris of California, J.E. Morris of Pottsboro, John Morris of Ector, Winifred Morris of McKinney, Lonnie Morris of Fort Worth, William Morris of Waco, and Alton Morris of Ohio.  Six daughters, Mrs. B.L. Brown of Van Alstyne, Mrs. W.A. McCay of Denison, Mrs. D.H. Chumbley of Tom Bean, Mrs. Ronald Rigsby of McKinney, Mrs. P.M. Jarvis of Whitewright and Mrs. John Ballard of Fort Worth; 41 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
