Thursday, December 6, 1962 pg.1 J.D. McCollom, 50, of Rt. 1 Whitewright, was found dead in his pickup truck Westminster Monday at 5:30 p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Earnheart Funeral Chapel with Frank Welman, minister of Princeton Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Pilot Grove Cemetery. McCollom was born June 25, 1912 in Sylvester. He married the former Miss Hazel Stanley March 6, 1929 in Leonard. He was a cattle dealer all his life. Survivors include his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. McCollom; one son, Charles; one daughters, Mrs. Elston Shelley; five grandchildren, all of Rt. 1, Whitewright.
