A double funeral was held at the Pilot Grove Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon for W.P. Ownby, 88, and his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, 79.

Funeral services for Dave M. Taylor, 85, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Earnheart funeral chapel, conducted by Rev. C.J. Graves, Methodist minister, and Allen Harper, Church of Christ minister, both of Sherman.  Burial will be in Pilot Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bill Brown, Albert Burks, Clint Hopper, Arlie St. John, H.D. Lewis, and H.V. Whitehead.
Mr. Taylor died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Sherman hospital following a heart attack.
Born December 23, 1876 in Tennessee, Mr. Taylor was the son of J.L. and Elizabeth Taylor.  On October 8, 1898 he married Miss Myrtle Binion in Pilot Grove where he had lived since that time.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Pilot Grove Church of Christ.
Surviving are six sons: Herbert and Guy of Pilot Grove; Robert, Max and D.B. of Sherman; and David of Garland; two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Doggett of Pilot Grove and Mrs. Ernest McMillin of Sherman; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
