S. Thomas Pierce [sic] To Be Buried Here
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. McSpeddden for S. Thomas Pierce, 49, who died Monday at Raleigh,  North Carolina after a long illness.  The services will be conducted by Rev. E.P. Wootten, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and interment at Pilot Grove Cemetery will be directed by Glen Earnheart.   Pallbearers will be Carlton Johnson, Ray Burris of Denison, Charley Cook  of Savoy, Arlie St. John of Pilot Grove, Ernest Rhino of Savoy, and Roy Butler of Leonard.
Mr. Pierce lived at Savoy for many years before moving to North Carolina about 10 years ago.  He was married in 1919 to Miss Doll Matthews.  He  was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Pierce of Zebelon, North Carolina; and 2 sisters.

Thomas Pierce, Jr. [sic], son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pierce of near Leonard, died at the family home last Friday morning at 10 o'clock.
Thomas Jr. was born October 6, 1920 and was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Pierce and was a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Mathews of the Pilot Grove community.
The funeral service was held Saturday morning at the Pilot Grove Christian Church and was conducted by Rev. A.E. Major, pastor of the Central Christian Church of Whitewright.  The little body was laid to rest in the Pilot Grove Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierce have the sympathy of their many friends in their great bereavement.
