Thursday, June 14, 1956 pg.1 Funeral services for Mrs. R.I. Scott, 67, were held Monday afternoon in Earnheart chapel, conducted by Rev. Howard McSpedden of Denton and Rev. John W. Polk of Whitewright. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were G.W. Scott, Haskell Scott, Rufus Scott, Otis Williams, Ewell Smith and Nolan Smith. Mrs. Scott died at her home in Whitewright at 6 a.m. Sunday. Born August 20, 1888 at Sherley, Hopkins County, Texas, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew N. Smith. She was married to R.I. Scott at Liberty on December 4, 1914, and had lived in Grayson County since her marriage. Surviving are her husband; four sons, Sidney Scott of Irving, Robert Scott of San Antonio, Noel Scott of Richardson, and Elvis Scott of Dallas; one daughters, Mrs. Joanne Powell of Terrell; two brothers, Robert Smith of Omaha and G.R. Smith of Garland; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Carpenter of Sulphur Springs and Mrs. Grace Krebs of Dallas; and 11 grandchildren.
