Funeral services for Ollie J. Neathery, 55, Grayson County chief jailor and veteran peace officer, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Sherman with Dr. J. Ellis officiating.  Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery.  Mr. Neathery died of heart trouble at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at a Sherman hospital after an illness of 14 days.
Mr. Neathery was born January 29, 1886 at Springfield, Missouri and moved to Texas in 1900, settling at Trenton.  He married Miss Maggie Cowart on October 24, 1909, and she died in 1934.
Mr. Neathery had served as a deputy sheriff under three Grayson County sheriffs and as deputy constable at Sherman under Constable P.M. Porter.  Since Mr. Porter's election as sheriff, Mr. Neathery had been chief jailor.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd and Kenneth Neathery of Sherman; three daughters, Mrs. Leon Toebe, St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. Paul Kirk and Mrs. Woodie Badgett of Sherman; three brothers, Roy and Ivey Neathery of Pilot Grove and Herbert Neathery of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Neathery, Pilot Grove and Mrs. Byron Birt of Dallas.
