Mrs. J.H. Barrett, wife of the late Harris Barrett, died at the home of her son at Ryan, Oklahoma Monday.  The body was shipped here and interment made at the Pilot Grove Cemetery Wednesday.
She was a pioneer citizen of the Pilot Grove community.  Several years ago she moved to this city with her husband and made her home here until his death, since which time she has been making her home with her children.
She was 83 years old and is survived by several children.
Mrs. Barrett was a good Christian woman and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.  The old settlers of this section will learn of her death with regret.

The following were here Wednesday to attend the funeral of their mother, Mrs. J.H. Barrett: M.H. Barrett and Mrs. L.N. Todd of Ryan, Oklahoma; Mrs. Julia Sowell of Demitt, Texas.  The following friends of the family were also here: W.T. Terry and J.R. Thomas of Ryan, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Slaughter of Dallas; and Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Russell of Sherman.
