DEATH ROLL
Mrs. D.E. Cole, a resident of Denison for 24 years, died at 4:55 a.m. today at a local hospital after an illness of 5 days, 2 of which were spent at the hospital.  She resided at 1414 W. Chestnut street.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from Short-Murray chapel, Rev. Ray Short officiating.  Interment will be at Oakwood cemetery, Short-Murray directing.
Deceased was born as Bessie Goodnight, January 21, 1890, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. J.K. Goodnight at Pottsboro which she left at the age of 7 with her parents to Dorchester where she received her education.  She was married there December 12, 1908 where they remained for several years, coming to Denison 24 years ago.
She was formerly employed here with the Patterson Manufacturing Co., but has been doing practical nursing more recently and was financial secretary of the Womens International Union Label League local, No. 144, was recording secretary of the Denison local, United Garmen [sic] Workers of America and a member of the Baptist church.   She was also an officer in the Denison Labor and Trades Council.
Surviving is her mother and husband, both here; one daughter, Mrs. D. Davis of here and a brother, E. Goodnight of Pueblo, Colorado.
